1. Plenty of Albert
On a night when 29 Redskins didn’t play at all, Albert Haynesworth played in 49 of Washington’s 55 defensive plays (that’s an astounding 89% of his team’s plays). Haynesworth played right defensive end for most of the first half, then played nose tackle in the second half.
Mike Shanahan said that Haynesworth played so much in an effort to get the maligned defensive lineman “into football shape.” I asked Shanahan what Thursday night’s game meant for Haynesworth’s chances to start against Dallas in Week-1. Shanahan said he’d have to evaluate film before answering. more
Maryland Football begins it season on Monday Afternoon against Navy at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. This season the Terps will be trying to bounce back from a 2-10 season which marked the worst season in school history. more
